FAQs
I've never taken a skills clinic, how do I know this is right for me?
This skills clinic is designed for beginner and intermediate level riders, however, all are welcome.
We believe that, in taking the time to learn both the fundamentals of riding as well as the progression for skills, you set yourself more up for success on the trail.
Skills coaching will help you maintain proper body position while riding, which will improve your comfort level. It will help you learn how to look at an obstacle and know your options for getting over it. But the best part of coaching, is finding out what you're capable of and where you can go with your progression.
What kind of bike do I need to participate?
You must have a proper fitting mountain bike that is in good working condition.
If you don't have a bike and would like to rent one, Owenhouse Cycling in downtown Bozeman will provide you with a 20% discount when you tell them you're taking a clinic with Ride the Earth. Grab new wheels and join us! That's a great way to demo a bike and see what you like.
What do I need to bring?
Bring your bike, mountain biking shoes, helmet, hydration pack or water bottle, riding snacks, electrolyte replacements, lunch, a spare tube and any personal medications or personal first aid. A detailed equipment list is included in your confirmation.
What kinds of skills will we work on?
We will work on a variety of skills including; body positions, braking, how to climb, how to corner, how to descend properly, and how to fall as gracefully as we can and avoid it when possible!
Who is this Women⁺ clinic for?
This skills clinic is women⁺ identifying riders, which means any and all woman-identifying, gender-fluid/diverse/queer or non-binary people are welcome to join!
